Tattoos
Care of your new tattoo is very important. Only touch with clean hands.
1. After one (1) hour, remove bandage, if bandage has stuck, wet the bandage and lift it off. DO NOT RE-BANDAGE.
2. Gently wash the tattoo with clean hands and cool, soapy water (mild soap). Get any remaining blood off the tattoo. Pat dry with a clean paper towel.
3. TODAY AND TONIGHT ONLY apply A & D ointment. Rub in thoroughly; blot of excess with clean paper towel. TOMORROW, and until the tattoo heals, apply a mild water-based hand lotion 1-2 time daily. (We recommend Lubriderm Lotion.)
4. DO NOT saturate the tattoo in water. When showering, use cool water. Keep water from directly hitting the tattoo. Pat Dry.
5. Keep tattooed area clean. Wear loose clothing. Do not let clothing stick to or irritate the tattoo.
6. DO NOT! DO NOT! DO NOT! Do not use Neosporin or Vaseline on the tattoo. Do not swim, sauna or a steam room or hot tub. Do not sun bathe or use a tanning salon. Do not bump, scrape, hit pick or scratch the tattoo.
7. If scab forms, do not pick the scab. Let it fall off naturally.
8. The tattoo should be healed in two (2) weeks.
9. If your tattoo itches, do not scratch it. this is normal mostly because your hair is growing back.
10. After the tattoo is healed: if you work outdoors and you are exposed to the sun, USE SUN BLOCK. The sun will fade your tattoo.
Scabbing should come off with-in two weeks. Your tattoo may look shiny or dry for about two more weeks. Skin cells take 45 days to heal.
Piercings
Care of your new piercing is very important. Only touch with clean hands.
1.Piercing must be cleaned daily, we recommend in the shower with anti-bacterial soap.
2. Make a lather of soap, clean the area and clean the jewelry. If you have a ring rotate to clean. For a barbell move back and forth.
3. Rinse the soap off the piercing throughly. Clean daily even after the piercing has healed.
DO NOT USE: NEOSPORIN [OINTMENT], RUBBING ALCOHOL, OR PEROXIDE
4. Avoid getting, lotions, perfumes, or other irritants into the piercing.
5. Clean immediately after swimming: pool, ocean, lake, hot tub, or sauna. There can be excessive bacteria in the water.
6. To help with the healing we recommend salt water soaks Soak piercing once daily for 15 minutes.
7. If infections occurs, DO NOT take out jewelry, use salt water soaks daily, for no less than 10 days. Make sure area is kept clean and jewelry is clean.
8. Salt water solution. Use epsom salt or non-iodized sea salt. In a small clean cup, dilute 1 teaspoon per 5oz. clean, warm water. Soak piercing for 15 minutes. Rinse with clean water.
9. Jewelry should be kept in place for 2 or 3 months. If you wish to change jewelry, we carry a large selection or you can bring your own, we will change if for free of charge.
10. You have been pierced under clean sterile conditions, problems occur, if aftercare instructions are not followed.
Piercings take time to heal, most about 8 to 12 weeks. Navels can take up to one year. If your are having discomfort or healing problems please call or stop in for a consultation.
